Jarhead

Hey,

I want to see Jar Head (Movie Website IMDB yesterday at the market arcade. It was great. It was directed by and the screen play was done by William Broyles Jr. This movie is based on a true telling ofthe gulf war ” Jarhead : a Marine’s chronicle of the Gulf War and other battles “ By Anthony Swofford (The main character in the movie)
Jarhead: A marine\'s chronicle of the Gulf War

back to the movie… It was a good movie. had drama in it. It showed Boot camp then shipping out and how the desert was during the Gulf War Jake Gyllenhaal(Swoff) and Jamie Foxx(Staff Sgt. Sykes) as the main characters in the movie.

//Plot Summary
Jarhead (the self-imposed moniker of the Marines) follows “Swoff” (Gyllenhaal), a third-generation enlistee, from a sobering stint in boot camp to active duty, sporting a sniper’s rifle and a hundred-pound ruck on his back through Middle East deserts with no cover from intolerable heat or from Iraqi soldiers, always potentially just over the next horizon. Swoff and his fellow Marines sustain themselves with sardonic humanity and wicked comedy on blazing desert fields in a country they don’t understand against an enemy they can’t see for a cause they don’t fully fathom… Foxx portrays Sergeant Sykes, a Marine lifer who heads up Swofford’s scout/sniper platoon, while Sarsgaard is Swoff’s friend and mentor, Troy, a die-hard member of STA-their elite Marine Unit.

    Umm, yes, I agree. I saw this movie too, in the theater with a friend and I was surprised, that I liked it. The line of the film “Are we ever going to get to kill anyone?,” was pretty telling, uh huh. As was of course the “ooo rah” line through out… while it may not do much in an effort to recruit volunteers, not romantic enough, you know, it will appeal to those who like raw action films, uh huh. ; )

    I think it was a very accurate movie, some of the stuff was over the top but it had a good point from one person perspective.
