Network Neutrality
Apr 27th
Yo,
This may be a old issue for yall, but after reading FactoryCity which is Chris Messina’s blog. he mentioned Network Neutrality which led me to the article from the Washington Post.
I was reading where AT&T and other large Telecomm Companys were complaining about companys who free ride off there fibre. WTF? Free Ride?
Lets stop and think for a minute. To be connected to the internet you have to have an connection, to have a connection you have to pay money. For companies like Google and Yahoo, they pay LOTS of money for there connections, They have fibre leading to there data centres (which again costs money) or they use places like equinix (which is carrier neutral, no favorite provider just a list of them available) which matter of fact looking at the Customer List for Equinix; Google AOL Yahoo Adobe Paypal among others use them and oh by the way WashPost does too. AT&T is also one of the providers they can choose from along with Verizon and other major telecomm companies.
HOW MUCH are they getting to provide bandwidth?? ALOT! They say that they get little to no money when they offer new matierals that use alot of bandwidth. Why is this? The companies paided for an Unmetred line… UNMETRED which means NOT METRED. They (The websites) do not get charged for more traffic, they pay for that ability.
Most of us would feel very hurt and riot if the goverment allows this to happen (the limiting), It is against our freedom of speech and press..man..

Chernobyl
Apr 26th
Today is the 20th anniversary of Chernobyl which was considered the worst Nuclear Energy disaster in the world and It happened on April 26 1986 at 01:23 a.m. (local time) in Ripyat, Ukraine, 18 km northwest of the city of Chernobyl, 16 km from the border of Ukraine and Belarus, and about 110 km north of Kiev.
This disaster was a mix of many events and the explosion of the reactor released 400 times more radiation then the atom bomb dropped at Hirosema.
This is a keen example on why Nuclear Power (That of Fission) should not be allowed. It currently is a necessary evil but with the evolution of Fusion power other resources, I hope that fission will be outlawed, but this issue is for another time.
A good link is Chernobyl Disaster @ Wikipedia It gives some good infomation about this.
English

Howdy Yall,
I managed to get to school to talk to my English teacher. She says I have improved greatly during my stay in her class, which I am happy about.
I have gotten A’s in just about every essay I have done for her, A on the midterm, my quizzes have ranged from A to F tho. I have not done well on memorizing the terms she asks us to do. I have written them, defined them, etc… But no cigar.
Only three weeks left of school. Exam (an essay) starts on the 8th (of may).
Oh well I will update about Math soon… Oh lovely math. The bain of my existence.

Monthly Updates (or so it seems)
Apr 24th
hey,
Sorry I have not updated soon, life has been hectic.
It is almost the end of the school yea, there is only a couple of weeks left then I have my summer classes. I hope I can get summer work-study, that would be hawt. That is anywhere between 30-35 hours for the summer, I could use the money.
Work is fine, a little more drama that I would like, but I may be quiting there soon. Why you may ask?!?!? It most likely will intfer with my school work, which is so not cool. Next semester I will have to attend ECC-South which is like 12MI from downtown buffalo Map To ECC I have to take the #2 Clinton to Downtown (which I do now for work and school @ ECC-City) then the #14 Abbott (B or C) to ECC. Thats two buses >.< and the math class I am suppose to take either starts at 740am (only bus that can get me out there on time leave downtown at 6:14am) or 740 pm(the lasts to 9:20) and the last bus to leave ECC is 9:40 (that would be cutting it close eh?). Tho I can take a math class at City and it would be so much easier. I shall have to see after I talk to my adviser. I will post what courses I will take when I get a firm idea. I so hope I can take my college comp with the teacher I have now, she is the best! *crosses fingers*
I am in contact with Alfred State so I can accurately plan my courses around what they can transfer, which will be good.
If ya can you prob have heard about Johari and Nohari can ya do mine?
