Last night, I spent from 19:00 to 02:00 in the Emergency Room of Buffalo General Hospital. I had a EKG done, I was fine there. I had blood tests done, I was fine there. I also had a CT scan of my chest, I was fine there as well. They discharge me with the preliminary diagnose of Chest Pains, musculoskelatal.
I had been having these pains for a week, and I had a elevated heart rate (120) when I went to the ER. I am happy it was not a heart attack, nor was it a blood clot. These are what they checked for.
I go to my doctor’s office for a “ER Follow Up Visit” and she tells me I came in to soon. That a couple hours my symptoms would not change. I tried to tell her as I did the ER doctors, I have had these pains before. I even mentioned to my doctor that it was in my chart, but she didn’t look, she rushed me out. I remembered what it was caused afterward with a help of a friend. I have Tietze’s syndrome, also known as costochondritis, which is is a benign inflammation of one or more of the costal cartilages (Wikipedia, Tietze’s syndrome).
This is why I don’t like doctors
NSAIDS here I come!
For the first time ever in my life, the ER doctor was right and my doctor was not…
