Apt Pics Updated

I posted pictures of my new apartment on the 19th (The New Apartment) put I did not have one of the community of buildings that make out this complex. Included below is just that! Click for a larger picture, as always.

The world, can not be trusted

I came across this recently and found it extremely amusing.

I have read about it on BBC, CNN, and many other news outlets because companies are freaking out that a twenty-something year old hacker named Virgil has created a tool, that can prove they are producing misinformation. It is called WikiScanner.

This tool has a database of millions of edits made to the Wikipedia, and with the already public information taken by Wikipedia with each edit, you are able to easily find out if a organization has caused misinformation.

WikiScanner can be found at http://wikiscanner.virgil.gr/

The BBC talks about the CIA, and the DCCC. The article can be found by

Oh, and of course /. Click Here

You can read about WikiScanner and Virgil on Wikipedia as well. Click Here for WikiScanner and Click Here for Virgil.

Thank You Virgil for helping show that the ones some trust in power, can not be trusted at all.

Passport Pic

Here is my passport picture. I will not scan my whole passport for security reasons, and I am lazy (ie: don’t want to black out most of the damn page!) You can see what the new passports look like by going to My Passport Page You will find my picture below!

My passport photo

Bad, eh? It shows all of the blemishes in my face, and everything! Maybe it is just the hologram on top of it, you never know…

New State ID

I got my new ID the other day, It is a horrible picture. What else is new? I had to turn in my old ID, which they are mailing back to NY. I had a learners permit in NY, but since NH does not do permits it is technically not a valid ID. I can’t learn to drive unless someone whom is 25 is driving with me. Chris turns 25 in November. Oh well :P , Below are the images. Click on them for larger images.

New section of my life

Hey everyone,

Sorry I have not updated at all since I moved, I have been so busy!!

I arrived safely, and everything is going fine!!!
The train arrived in Worcester MA nine mins early. So I was happy!!! I will post more about the trip later, if I get the time.

I have a conditional hire at Target in Merrimack. I will be doing Backroom Stocking, which involves taking product out of the back and putting it onto displays. $8.00 an hour, not a lot but I can get by on that, for now…

Wal-Mart has a overnight stocking job open that pays $11.50 an hour, I am hoping for that because I will make more money, and I will have to spend less money on a cab, if any at all. Target will cost me at least $16 once a day, everyday I work. If I work overnights at Wal-Mart then I can get a ride.

Well Wish Me Luck!!!

BTW, I will post pictures of the new place when I wake up!!

Peace,
Josh

Passport Arrived!!

I have finally received my passport! It took less time then they said it would. The Dept. of State estimated 10 to 12 weeks, they got it done in 8. I was worried I would not get it before I moved, and it was being sent to my Buffalo address. I called and informed them as such, they switched the address and had it completed by August 1st and overnighted to the apartment in Milford. I was floored. I had Chris mail it to me, so I would have it for ID reasons. I just happened to lose my NYS ID later that day too. I did find it yesterday, got my passport today.

Now you may be asking, why do I have a passport? I am moving to NH, to live with my soul-mate, why would I need to leave? Let me list them!

  1. The movement of the US government shows that you will be required to have a National ID, within the next five years.
  2. To enter a federal building soon, you need a ID card or form of ID approved by them, most state ID’s unless they conform with the real id act fall under this. A Passport does
  3. If I get a job that may require to journey overseas on short notice having a passport makes me more valuable.
  4. At the time of applying, I had been planning on going to Alfred State, where I was applying for a Study Aboard program. I had the money, I wouldn’t then.
  5. A passport is a solid form of ID, given I lost my NYS ID (but found it), a passport would solve ID requirements at DMV’s.

So there ya are!!! Passport for me, yay! Its all cool and snazzy and yayness.

Talk to ya later!!!

Letter of Recommendation

My boss wrote me this, I was very very surprised. Thank You!!

To Whom It May Concern:

Joshua Altemoos has been employed at The Central Library as a page since 10/2004. In that time I have been his supervisor. Joshua has been an asset to our department providing customer service to our patrons. During his employment, the Central Library has undergone several renovation projects and Joshua has been instrumental in the major shifting of material required to complete them. With our collection of 4 million books, it is essential that material is shelved and shifted correctly. Joshua has never hesitated to ask questions if he is unsure, and thus prevented errors from taking place. Joshua has not only adhered well to his schedule, he was also willing to adjust his schedule when necessary to provide adequate departmental coverage. He was also cross- trained to assist in the Request Department, and willingly helped there when needed. He has also assisted in training new employees when required.

Joshua’s communication skills, attitude, and quickness to learn should be of
benefit throughout his working life.

Sincerely,
