HRC’s Response

I recently blogged about the HRC’s National Coming Out Day Project for 2007, and somehow one of there staffers found my post and commented. They Said:

Hey — thanks for your response and link to our video. FYI - responses to the video don’t have to be high quality, just personal and honest. We’d love to hear from you!

I was very surprised to find this on my blog so I emailed them back and wrote:

Thank you for commenting on my blog!

I have followed the HRC for many years, even before I came out. I have
also cited many papers and web pages of the HRC in the past, whether
it is for a blog post, or the research paper I did on “GLBT Civil
Rights Movement in the United States” and how it is just a
continuation of the Civil Rights Movement started in the 1800s and
1900s. The HRC has done a lot of good work for human rights, Thank
you.

Also, I think this video project that you started is a great idea. I think so, because
it is a great way to get the youth of our era to have an easy way to
be active in the furthering of Human Rights and to use there technical
skills to make a positive impact! Thank you again!

On a side note, I am curious, how did you find out about my blog?

Thank you again!

Sincerely Yours,

Josh Altemoos

I have not heard anything back yet, I’ll let you know. I did do a video for the project, I will post it here soon.

Peace!
